2005 NCAA MEN'S BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

Just when you thought UK's disappointing SEC Tourney Championship Game was bad enough
... comes the NCAA Selection Committee's Field of 65.
NOTES FROM THIS YEAR'S BRACKETS:

1. Matching UK against Eastern Kentucky in the First Round was just simply "depressing". Very sad to see the Selection
Committee set up this game. The people of Kentucky were excited for EKU's accomplishment this year. Just cruel. It's a Rip!

2. Next (even if it's Louisville) a number 4 Seed for Rick Pitino's Cardinals! You can't tell me they don't deserve better than that!
Conference USA Regular and Tournament Champions and a descent pre-season schedule. A Number 4? Wrong.

3. Utah (even if Rick Majerus is not there anymore) is placed ONCE AGAIN in the same Region as UK. The Selection
Committee's insistence that Utah and UK possibly meet, yet again, borders on Sadistic.

4. I'll say this, I didn't believe that UK deserved a Number 1 Seed because of their weak Preseason. But Washington getting a
#1 is a Surprise. I know the wins they have and winning the PAC 10 Tourney ... I just think the PAC 10 is overrated.

5. The Southeastern Conference (SEC) gets 5 teams into the Field (UK, FLORIDA, LSU, ALABAMA, & MISSISSIPPI STATE).
I really thought Mississippi State might not get in. For whatever reason (Point Guard injury), they just haven't had that
'big year' that was expected of them. Plus, they have not played well at the end of the season.

6. For the First time since 1972 the State of Indiana has no entry into the Tournament! Could Mike Davis at IU be headed
for the door? Maybe. Tennessee didn't wait .... they Fired Head Coach Buzz Peterson. Will Freshman &
Last Year's Mr. Kentucky Basketball Chris Loften consider transferring back to UK now?

7. Looking over the Bracket the general belief is that the difficulty of the Regions is in this order:

SYRACUSE REGION
CHICAGO REGION
AUSTIN REGION
ALBUQUERQUE REGION

We will Update Our Tourney Bracket on this site as the games progress. Have a look for yourself:

8. Sad to say, I really think UK is at best a Sweet Sixteen team this year. ESPN's Coach Rick Majerus has UK going the
furthest of all the Tournament Predictors that we are aware of ... beating DUKE to reach the Final Four.

9. My Final Four Picks:

SYRACUSE REGION - Connecticut
CHICAGO REGION - Illinois
AUSTIN REGION - Syracuse
ALBUQUERQUE REGION - Wake Forest

10. Since everyone is picking either Illinois or North Carolina as their favorite.
My Pick to Win it all:

WAKE FOREST DEMON DEACONS out of the ALBUQUERQUE REGION.
