JUMP FOR JOY
No kidding! Jump for Joy is a 5.8 sport route on Roadside, near Natural Bridge.
Ironically, Adam Moneypenny prepares to do just that. Even though, this Climb
is a 5.8, Adam, unknowingly, gets ready to lead his way up this sandy little climb.
The problem here is that until your gear is secured up to the third bolt, a fall from
the lead climber risks smacking against the rock that we are sitting on here.
Adam proved that point as he took his own jump for joy when he fell just after
securing his gear in the third bolt. Losing his grip on a sandy hold, Adam fell
some 15-18 feet before smacking against the face of the climb. OUCH!
Luckily, he made it up to the third bolt just in time.
