and Eb on top of Raven Rock To the right of the guys is a man-made picnic structure which elavated the table into the air for a great view. Several counties are visible from this vantage point. Note that the very large car in the background did not belong to us. Road conditions were well enough that any vehicle could reach the top. Over Eb's left shoulder in the background is a concrete restroom structure. A hang gliding platform the the far left back. Such was the ower, Mr. Greenwade's vision. Today the USFS now controls the property and have removed all man made structures except some concrete slabs, the metal railing, and whatever portions of blacktop remain intact. Hiking to the top is the only means of accessing to this area now. The last Saga Member to do so and spend a couple of nights was DW a few years ago. (June 2004) |
