35mm camera footage of this important historical event. Louisville Television Stations utilized color film of this type at the time. WLKY Ch 32 and WHAS Ch 11 from Louisville are known to be present that day. Their Archival Footage as with a number of other television stations in the state have donated their film to the University of Kentucky's William T. Young Library for storage. At present the University lacks the funding for proper cataloging and restoration of the material. However the stored film is kept at excellent environmental conditions in order to slow the ongoing deterioration which will take place. WHAS Ch 11 adopted a Pro-Gorge attitude supporting the cause and produced this special: WHAS REPORTS SERIES: THE RED RIVER GORGE Produced by Barry Bingham, Jr. (B&W) 1 hour Since the segment was done in Black & White it should remain in good condition within the Library.
