KAYAKING THE RED RIVER GORGE
In
1993 a 19.4 mile section of the Red River in eastern Kentucky
was designated a National Wild and Scenic River.
The Red
River Gorge, however, was wild and scenic long before 1993.

GLADIE CULTURAL-ENVIRONMENTAL LEARNING CENTER
Gladie
Historic Site, KY 715. A restored log cabin, c. 1880, contains
displays of early logging and farm life. Special events throughout
the
year, schedules available at the Gladie CEC at the Gladie Site
or the Ranger Station in Stanton.

RED RIVER HISTORICAL
MUSEUM
Red
River Historical Museum - Artifacts from the area’s iron,
logging and railroad industries. Also contains music boxes and
blacksmith tools.
A
reconstructed log school house is also located adjacent to the
museum. HWY 15. Open May - October. Hours 2-4 p.m., Saturday -Sunday.

STANTON'S CORN FESTIVAL
Stanton
is the home of the "Corn Festival" that is held annually
in August.
CAMPTON'S
SWIFT SILVER MINE FESTIVAL
Swift
Silver Mine Festival - Each year on Labor Day weekend, the streets
of downtown Campton are cordoned off and the entire area
celebrates
the annual Swift Silvermine Festival. The festival commemorates
the legend of the lost John Swift silver mines, which many
people
believe actually exist somewhere in Wolfe County, but of which
not a trace has ever been found in modern times.
POWELL COUNTY FAIR
Held
in Stanton, Ky each year featuring Fair Grounds, crafts, special
