KENTUCKY
REPTILE ZOO
The
Kentucky Reptile Zoo is a non-profit organization featuring a
zoo exhibit, venom extraction lab, and educational outreach programs.
Founded
in 1990 by director Jim Harrison, the zoo's goals of education,
conservation, and venom research are at the foundation
KRZ represents.
Three times a day (1:00, 3:00, & 5:00) we feature educational
talks about the animals we display. Allowing to
view live
reptiles up close. On most days, KRZ features a daily venom extraction
show given by the director, Jim Harrison, in place of the
1:00 pm
show. This rare opportunity to watch a snake being "milked"
properly will give visitors a unique experience and a chance to
learn
about the
multitude of medical advances that are being researched using
snake venom. (RRS recommends)
