WHITE RABBIT ENDS WITH THE DEATH OF BIN LADEN
Often we journey to the Red River Gorge to escape the outside world and all its troubles, today we must make
note of it. At the conclusion of our Spring Venture, WHITE RABBIT, the news has come out that the man who
was most responsible for the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001 is dead. US NAVY Seals led the assault
ending with Osama Bin Laden resisting being captured, he was shot in the head, buried at Sea [CLICK HERE]

RRS WHITE RABBIT was an overwhelming success and will forever carry the notation of the previous story.
Look for photos and wrap-up during next week's RRS website update, Phase II of RRS DAMBUSTERS as well.

IMPORTANT: With the primary date set for Thursday, May 19th with a back-up/rain date of Thursday, May 26th

MAD MOUNTAIN MIKE and THE RED ELIXIR
Those involved in the ongoing MAD MOUNTAIN MIKE Hikes are aware that getting The Red Elixir off the ground
has been a daunting task. We now span into the third year working toward its successful completion ... the
problem? Mother Nature, she can be testy at times and her efforts in this case reveal her true character.
Whatever! it can clearly be held as a testament to bad luck as we've watched each previous date meet with
one horrible weather pattern after another. So we've remained patient and continued to plug away thus leading
us to this upcoming weekend.

Just to be clear this is a 3-Day Backpacking trip. Detailed information about the location, times, etc will
be emailed to RRS Members this week. Further discussions on schedules & equipment will no doubt take place
as the week goes along. Should this attempt encounter an unreasonable forecast too pessimistic to overcome,
it will be postponed no less than 24 hours before launch.

Continuing on with the positive waves, Andrew has edited our RRS WELCOME Video once again to include footage
shot during last weekend's WHITE RABBIT. It's also posted on the RRS Homepage or watch it now [CLICK HERE]
As for WHITE RABBIT, we're still working on those photos and Phase II of RRS DAMBUSTERS so standby.

NOTE: The Red River Cleanup sponsored by Red River Adventure is now set for Thursday, May 19th. Both this
site and RRGToday.com are helping to push this event as a worthy cause. Find out more [CLICK HERE]

RRS DAMBUSTERS PHASE II
It should come as no surprise that last week's planned MAD MOUNTAIN MIKE & THE RED ELIXIR Hiking Adventure
had to be postponed (once again) due to the weather. Some times it really does feel as though Mother Nature
has it out for us but we continue to try. Trip dates for this next MMM Hike have now been rescheduled for
June 3rd - 5th, 2011 (Friday - Sunday). During our recent Chatroom Session we did nail down a meeting time
for that Friday ... 6:00pm ET. Plus, we did have a long discussion regarding the variety of foods hikers
planned on packing in, very interesting. With the new hike dates in place everyone has extra time to think
about their choice of meals ... sticking with what works? ... or trying something new!

As a part of our recent RRS Spring Venture, WHITE RABBIT, Phase II of RRS DAMBUSTERS took place to a very
successful conclusion. We'll get those WHITE RABBIT photos posted soon but for now we offer the complete
RRS DAMBUSTERS Operation in Pictures. In review, a huge logjam on Indian Creek occurred sometime late
Summer or early Fall of 2010. The resulting erosive force it created during high water was like nothing
seen in our 35 year visitations. It became necessary to clear the path and put a halt to the loss of
earth along the stream bank. Three visitations and two phases of the operation later and the deed is done.

RRS 35th ANNUAL ICON

Sure we still have a few projects to complete before we reach the month of September! But its never too
early to get the buzz going on our 35th Annual Trip just because it's special. This Week we offer up the
Official 35th RRS Icon which should not be confused with the Logo and Trip Name which are yet to follow.
For many years we've used illusions and allegories associated with the Legend of King Arthur ... Camelot,
Excalibur, The Round Table, etc. Truthfully we borrowed what we could in the hopes of creating an
atmosphere of equality and fellowship. After 3 and 1/2 Decades, I suppose we've done fairly well as an
organization. To See the 35th RRS Icon in full size [CLICK HERE] Look for it on Lunch boxes, Race Cars, etc.

Bang! MAD MOUNTAIN MIKE and THE RED ELIXIR is on the move once more! With yet another delay thanks
to Mother Nature, we are pushing forward once again in hopes of its completion. Friday thru Sunday, June
3rd - 5th. It's our deepest hope that the extra launch time will give everyone a chance at either greater
preparation or the opportunity to personally attend. Further details will be emailed as we grow closer.

NOTE: The Children's Fishing Derby is fast approaching. June 4, 8am to Noon ET, Indian Creek near the New
Bridge. Enjoy nature as you try your hand at fishing in Indian Creek! Children (ages 5-15) fish for free.
Have your picture taken with Smokey Bear and the fish you caught. After the event, the whole family
can fish and since the first weekend in June is Free Fishing Days in Kentucky ... No Fishing License is
necessary for Kentucky residents or non-residents. All fishing regulations still remain in effect.
